"Merge SMS" is a way to re-use an existing SMS. Short Message Service (SMS) is a communication service component of hosting communication system, using standardized communications protocols that allow the exchange of short text messages between mobile phone devices. SMS text messaging is the most widely used data application in the world.

The CRM component of the system has the ability to create new SMS template that can be reused for future SMSs. You can create SMS template by following these easy steps:

Step 1: Select 'New SMS Template'

On ribbon, click the "Communications" tab.

Under Templates group, select "New SMS Template".

Note:

To edit any existing SMS template, double-click that template from grid under "All SMS Templates" command and then move to Step-2

Step 2: Fill the Form

The SMS template form contains all of the information related to a SMS template, broken down into few fields. These fields are described here:

The details under "General info" tab are very much similar to any ordinary SMS message.

"Unicode" is a computing industry standard allowing computers to consistently represent and manipulate text expressed in most of the world's available writing systems.

"Concatenate" means you can merge/combine SMS, if its length increases beyond a certain limit

In lower portion you can add contents for this message in plain text format or you can use placeholders selecting the appropriate one from ribbon's drop-down menu. Later, these placeholders will be replaced with real contents.

Note:

The fields marked with red star (*) at right end, indicate that these are required-fields while any other field can be left blank.

Step 3: Click 'Save & Close'

When you have finished to enter all the desired info,  to save this data, choose any one option on ribbon:

Save and Close: saves everything you have entered so far and closes the form

Save and New: saves everything you have entered so far and reopens a blank form for another entry.
